Amitabh Bachchan, the beloved host of Sony TV's Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), is reportedly preparing to bid adieu to the show.
Although he had originally intended to hang up his boots after Season 15, the 82-year-old agreed to stay on for one more season as the channel struggled to find a fitting replacement.

SRK, Aishwarya, and Dhoni emerge as potential successors
According to a recent survey by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) and Rediffusion's Red Lab, Shah Rukh Khan is the leading contender to replace Bachchan.
The survey, which was conducted on 768 respondents in Hindi-speaking regions, also named Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mahendra Singh Dhoni as strong competitors.

SRK's previous experience and support for Aishwarya
Khan, who hosted the third season of KBC back in 2007, got 63% support in the latest survey.
Although the ratings dipped during his previous stint, he has now become a fan-favorite to continue Bachchan's legacy.
Interestingly, Aishwarya, known for her oratorical skills, turned out to be a strong contender with 51% of the survey respondents backing her as their preferred choice.
Dhoni, with his massive popularity, got 37% votes.

Bachchan's legacy on 'KBC' and future hosting possibilities
Bachchan has been the face of KBC since its inception in 2000.
His alleged departure from the show marks the end of an era for one of India's most beloved and widely followed television programs.
The makers are yet to announce who'll step into Bachchan's shoes.
