Bollywood is a place where people have to start young to become a star eventually. In this process, pursuing education often takes a backseat. However, there are some celebrities who have strong educational background, and have also made a name for themselves in the film industry. SRK holds degree in Economics, attended NSD to learn acting
Shah Rukh Khan, who just completed 27 years in Bollywood, goes beyond any description. But let's focus on his education, which is appreciable too. Having completed schooling from St. Columba's School, he graduated in Economics from Hansraj College. He was also pursuing a Masters degree in Mass Communication from Jamia Milia University but left it for acting. Eventually, he joined NSD to learn acting.
Sara Ali Khan graduated from Columbia University in 2016
Before entering the glitzy world of films, daughter of Saif Ali Khan, Sara was focused on her education completely. She holds a Bachelor degree in History and Political Science from Columbia University in New York, US, and graduated from there in 2016. Saif always said that he wanted Sara to be a graduate before venturing into Bollywood. She eventually made her debut in Kedarnath.
Ameesha Patel holds a degree in Economics from Tufts University
Ameesha Patel, known for her roles in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000), and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), might have had an average career, but she is one of the most highly educated celebrities in Bollywood. She holds a degree in Economics from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and was a gold medalist. Before that, she also pursued Bio-genetic engineering from Boston University.
Shekhar Kapur worked as a chartered accountant in London
Shekhar Kapur, well-known for directing films like Mr. India (1987), Bandit Queen (1994) and Elizabeth (1998), is the nephew of famous Indian actor Dev Anand, and was always attracted to films. That however didn't hinder him from pursuing higher education. Kapur graduated with a Bachelor degree in Economics from St Stephen's. He then worked as a chartered accountant at ICAEW, London, having studied accountancy.
John Abraham holds an MBA degree from Narsee Monjee
John Abraham made a smashing debut in 2003 with Jism opposite Bipasha Basu. Prior to that, he was also a successful model.
