Bollywood's popular villain Mahesh Anand passes away at 57
Bollywood actor Mahesh Anand, who was known for playing negative roles in the movies of 80s and 90s breathed his last today. He was 57. Reportedly, he was found dead in his Versova flat. While the cause of Mahesh's death is not known, his body has been taken to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem. Mahesh was last seen in Govinda's 2019 release Rangeela Raja.
Ex-wife unaware of Mahesh's death
Reportedly, Mahesh was living alone in his apartment after his divorce in 2002. He was not in touch with his ex-wife Usha Bachani who was unaware of this unfortunate incident. The police have registered an accidental death report in the case. "We found Mahesh's body was in his apartment. We've informed his two sisters who stay in Mumbai," Sr PI Ravindra Badhguzar told Spotboye.
Mahesh made his comeback after 18 years
Interestingly, the Pahlaj Nihalani directorial Rangeela Raja marked Mahesh's comeback on the big screen after a hiatus of 18 years. The actor had shared the news of his comeback on Facebook. Mahesh wrote that although he had only six minutes of screen time, he was excited to be back on the screen. "It's a stepping stone back into the industry," he had said then.
Mahesh suffered financial crisis during his stint in Bollywood
During his interview with Cinestaan, Mahesh revealed that he had been through a financial crisis for several years during his stint in Bollywood. The actor claimed nobody signed him for a movie for 18 years. Before Rangeela Raja, he was last seen in Sanjay Dutt's Kurukshetra in 2000. "I have worked with some big people, but nobody remembered me," Mahesh was quoted saying.
Mahesh was a part of several superhit movies
Notably, Mahesh had shared the screen space with Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and several other actors during 80s and 90s. He had also worked in several hit movies like Kurukshetra, Swarg, Krantiveer, Shehenshah, Vishwatma, Thanedaar, Gumraah etc.
