Ronit Roy calls 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' experience 'painful'
Actor Ronit Roy has shared his "painful" experience working on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM), amid ongoing allegations of unpaid dues by producer Vashu Bhagnani. In a chat with Zoom, Roy revealed that he got a big chunk of his acting fees from Bhagnani only after intervention by Himanshu Mehra, who works with director Ali Abbas Zafar. The film was led by Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
'I am lucky to have got a large part...'
Roy said, "I am lucky to have got a large part of my acting fees for my work on BMCM." "The money was supposed to come from Bhagnani and it came from Bhagnani, but that happened only after Mehra intervened." He also disclosed that payments for his staff and security company were significantly delayed.
Roy refuted Bhagnani's claims about Dubai subsidy
Roy also tackled the issue about the funds that were supposed to come from London, and a subsidy from Dubai. He denied Bhagnani's claims that Zafar had misused the Dubai subsidy, saying, "I think my staff was paid off from the Dubai subsidy at the insistence of Himanshu." He also mentioned that Mehra and Zafar are now doing their best to ensure maximum payments are made in minimum time.
Roy acknowledged Zafar's unpaid dues and Bhagnani's presence on set
When asked about Zafar's unpaid dues of ₹7cr, Roy responded, "That's common knowledge. While I don't know the exact amount that Bhagnani has to pay Zafar, if the figure of ₹7cr is out in public domain, toh utna toh hoga hi." He also addressed Bhagnani's accusations of Zafar hijacking the film by stating that Bhagnani was present on set every day and it was hard to believe he didn't realize what was happening.
Roy has no plans to work with Bhagnani again
When quizzed about the possibility of teaming up with Bhagnani again, Roy said, "No." He also mentioned that he didn't reach out to Bhagnani when the payments for his staff and security firm were delayed, opting instead to seek help from Mehra. BMCM also starred Alaya F and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
