    What's the story

Adding another feather to its cap, 'Black Panther' has now moved ahead of 'Titanic' in the list of all-time highest grossing movies.

The film with a predominant black cast is now the third-highest grosser in North American history.

The top two spots are occupied by 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and 'Avatar' respectively.

    Details

'Black Panther' has so far raked in $665 million

Marvel's maiden standalone black superhero film has made $665 million till now and thus, has crossed the lifetime collection of 'Titanic' which stood at $659 million.

However, it would be difficult for 'Black Panther' to challenge 'Avatar' ($760 million) and 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' ($937 million).

    Ruling hearts

    All hail 'Black Panther'

The movie garnered rave reviews from critics who hailed it as one of the best Marvel movies which poignantly portrays Africa.

'Black Panther' even received a rare 100% rating from review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

It narrates the story of a fictional, technologically advanced African nation Wakanda, whose newly crowned king T'Challa faces trouble from within.

A sequel to the film is already in place.
