Bill Skarsgård's 'The Crow' sets new release date
The highly anticipated film, The Crow, directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs has been rescheduled for release in India on August 30, 2024. The movie was originally slated to premiere on August 23. The Crow tells the gripping and emotionally charged love story of Eric (played by Skarsgård) and Shelly (portrayed by FKA Twigs).
A tale of love, revenge, and dark intrigue
The Crow reportedly delves into the darker aspects of love, with the raw passion and undeniable chemistry between the actors forming the beating heart of the film. The plot, as explained by IMDb, reads, "Soulmates Eric and Shelly are brutally murdered. Given a chance to save the love of his life, Eric must sacrifice himself and traverse the worlds of the living and the dead, seeking revenge."
Twigs on why she chose the character
FKA Twigs brings to life Shelly, a mysterious character whose involvement in a dangerous situation prompts her to make a life-altering decision. Reflecting on her connection to the role, the singer shared, "I wanted to play Shelly because she felt like a magnified version of myself. Obviously, we're not the same, but it felt like Shelly was one side of me that could be 'blown up' into the entire character." Danny Huston and Josette Simon co-star.
'The Crow' is a fresh take on James O'Barr's story
The Crow will be released 30 years after the original 1994 film, adapted from James O'Barr's comic book series. However, the makers have emphasized that their version of O'Barr's story will be different from the earlier adaptation. "We found a new way into the story, and we want them both to exist with their own voices, with their own set of fans," screenwriter William Josef Schneider said.
