BIGHIT MUSIC shares legal update; defends BTS against false allegations
BIGHIT MUSIC, the management agency behind the global K-pop sensation BTS, has publicly refuted recent startling allegations against the band. In a statement released on Thursday via Weverse, the agency labeled accusations of "hoarding, concept plagiarism, and affiliations with Dahnworld or any religious cults" as "completely false." To combat this misinformation and protect their artists' rights, BIGHIT MUSIC has enlisted a separate law firm and lodged criminal complaints with law enforcement agencies.
BIGHIT MUSIC's legal strategy against misinformation
BIGHIT MUSIC said in its statement, "Our agency decided that the recent movement spreading false rumors and information has become excessive and announced previously that a separate law firm would be engaged to address these matters decisively." The agency has identified and compiled posts containing misleading information aimed at defaming the band. The first batch of criminal complaints was lodged on Thursday, marking the start of their legal proceedings against these falsehoods.
The agency's commitment to protecting BTS's reputation
BIGHIT MUSIC has reiterated its commitment to protect the reputation of BTS by persistently pursuing legal proceedings. The statement further said, "We uphold a zero-tolerance policy for filing civic and criminal complaints against individuals who attempt to tarnish the reputation of our artists by spreading malicious falsehoods." "We will offer no leniency or settlements, ensuring that offenders are appropriately punished without exception." This stance underscores the agency's dedication to safeguarding its artists' rights and reputation.
Apology and call for information
BIGHIT MUSIC also extended its heartfelt apologies to BTS fans (known as the BTS ARMY) for any distress caused by the recent allegations. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to taking necessary measures to protect its artists' rights.
