'Bigg Boss Marathi' contestant Abhijit Bichukale arrested from BB house
It was a real and reel life crossover of sorts for controversial politician and current contestant of the ongoing second season of Bigg Boss Marathi, Abhijit Bichukale. As it happened, a police team showed up at the sets of the reality show with an arrest warrant for Bichukale, in connection with a cheque bouncing case. Here are the details.
Satara police barged into show sets to nab Bichukale
On Friday, a police team from Satara, accompanied by personnel from the neighboring Aarey Colony Police Station in Goregaon reached the Bigg Boss house in Film city, after a Satara court issued an arrest warrant against the said participant. Naturally, the show's crew and fellow contestants were perplexed to witness the cops in house, but there was no opposition and the arrest was peaceful.
The arrest was in connection to a cheque bouncing case
Notably, the peculiar police arrest was made in connection to a cheque bouncing case that has been in court since 2015. Since Bichukale failed to appear before the court despite repeated summons, an arrest warrant was finally issued in the matter. Arrested under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, he will now be produced before the ordering court.
