Bhavana Menon announces comeback to Malayalam cinema after five years
Popular Malayalam and Kannada actor Bhavana Menon announced her return to Malayalam cinema on Wednesday. The actor revealed she will be coming back to the industry with Ntikkakkakkoru Premondaarnn, an Adhil Maimoonath Asharaf directorial, co-starring Sharaf U Dheen. A poster for the film was unveiled by megastar Mammootty online. Menon's last Malayalam outing was Adam Joan which came out five years ago in 2017.
Menon revealed shooting for the film will begin soon
Taking to her Instagram handle, Menon shared the poster and wrote, "Rolling soon - Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnn featuring @bhavzmenon and @sharaf_u_dheen." The graphic poster features the cartoon of a young girl wearing a red traditional skirt and blouse. Behind her, symbols for varied things can be seen, which makes guessing the plot harder. Asharaf has written as well as edited the film, alongside helming it.

Meet the whole crew behind the venture

'I actually don't know why I wanted to stay away'
Notably, Menon was a survivor in a widely-publicized sexual assault case in 2017. The actor signed Kannada movies after this but not Malayalam films. Menon opened up about this decision to a portal: "I actually don't know why I wanted to stay away [from Kerala, film industry], I cannot define or pinpoint that feeling...I felt going back on the sets will start new discussions."
Menon opened up about becoming a survivor this January
The 35-year-old actor had not spoken about the incident or its impact on her until January 2022, when she posted a note on Instagram. Talking about her "journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor," Menon noted how her "name and my identity have been suppressed under the weight of the assault inflicted on me" for five years. Thereafter, she received industry-wide support.
Meanwhile, the assault case is undergoing trial
The assault case is currently undergoing trial before a Special CBI Judge. Multiple people are accused in the abduction and rape racket, including disgraced Malayalam actor Dileep. Earlier today, Menon approached the Bar Council of Kerala against Dileep's lawyer for allegedly trying to influence witnesses.
