Beyoncé, Jay-Z consider legal action after Ye's attack on kids
What's the story
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are said to be considering legal action against Kanye West after his recent "vulgar and offensive" comments about their kids.
The rapper—now Ye—had bashed their seven-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night.
The couple is now reportedly considering what they should do about it, with a source telling Page Six that they "will absolutely not stand for it."
Offensive remarks
Ye's offensive comments and subsequent deletions
In his now-deleted post, Ye called the youngest children of Jay-Z and Beyoncé mentally challenged.
He wrote, "Wait has anyone ever seen Jay Z and Beyonce's younger kids they're ret*rded no like literally and this is why artificial insemination is such a blessing having ret*rded children is a choice."
After deleting it, he re-shared it early Wednesday morning, saying, "I took the post down...because there was a possibility of my Twitter being canceled."
Privacy protection
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's stance on children's privacy
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have always been fiercely protective of their children's privacy, especially Rumi and Sir.
Unlike their elder daughter Blue Ivy, who has made public appearances, the twins have stayed away from the limelight.
In a 2024 interview with GQ, Beyoncé even stressed her commitment to her children's privacy, saying, "I work hard to make sure they have as normal a childhood as possible."
Despite all that, Ye's recent comments have brought them into the public eye.
Continued conflict
Ye's ongoing feud with Jay-Z and Beyoncé
Notably, Ye and Jay-Z have had a complicated relationship over the years. They started as collaborators, creating hit songs and even a joint album.
However, their friendship soured due to business disputes and personal issues. Tensions grew when Jay-Z and Beyoncé skipped Ye's wedding, and Ye later accused Jay of not supporting him.
His X account still hosts several posts against Jay-Z. Despite brief reconciliations, they remain distant.
Public support
Tina Knowles hit back at Ye
Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles also reacted to Ye's comments.
On Instagram, she posted a video of herself cracking a "corny joke." Earlier she captioned it, "It's hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil." She continued, "But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper."
Meanwhile, Ye's ex-wife Kim Kardashian is reportedly fighting her own battle with him.
