Grammys 2025: Beyoncé bags 1st-ever Country Grammy
What's the story
Global music icon Beyoncé has added another feather to her cap by winning her first-ever Country Grammy.
Taylor Swift presented the award to the star at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Even though Beyoncé initially stated that Cowboy Carter isn't a country album but a "Beyoncé" album, she submitted it, along with several songs from it, in country categories for the Grammys.
She also bagged a Country Duo/Group Performance Grammy for her collaboration with Miley Cyrus on II Most Wanted.
Grammy journey
Beyoncé's historic win—first Black woman to win in 50 years
Beyoncé was nominated for four Country Grammys this year, part of her 11 overall nominations. However, she lost the other two country categories to Kacey Musgraves (Best Country Song) and Chris Stapleton (Best Country Solo Performance).
Notably, Beyoncé isn't the first Black woman to win a Country Grammy but she is the first in over 50 years since The Pointer Sisters in 1975.

She remains in contention for the top three all-genre marquee categories: Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter and Record and Song of the Year for Texas Hold 'Em.
Grammy history
Beyoncé's pursuit of Album of the Year win
All eyes are on Beyoncé as she competes for Album of the Year, a title she has yet to clinch despite five nominations.
She also has never won Record of the Year, although she has previously won Song of the Year.
Regardless of these top category outcomes, Beyoncé's fans have no reason to be disappointed as she holds the record for most nominations in Grammy history with 99 nominations (including this year's 11).
