Bengaluru police halt Ed Sheeran's surprise street performance
What's the story
British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was interrupted by Bengaluru police during a performance on Church Street on Sunday.
The officers, reportedly oblivious to the Grammy winner's identity, asked him to leave as he allegedly didn't have the necessary permissions for the gig.
A video from the scene shows Sheeran telling his audience, "We have permission to be here, but this policeman is shutting it down."
Per the police, permission for the performance was requested but not granted.

Sheeran's love for India
Sheeran earlier spoke about why he likes performing in India
In an interview with India Today last year, Sheeran said, "I really feel the love here, in India. Sometimes you can play in places and people can be very subdued. Like, even if they are feeling the vibe inside them, you can never read how people feel."
"But here, in India, it's a vibrant country. People are so excited! Indians grew up learning so many dance moves."
"The 'lightbulb move' is the only Indian dance I've managed to learn."
