'Beast': Ahead of release, Vijay warns fans against creating troubles
The release date of Beast is almost here! And, before that, its lead actor Vijay is taking all precautions to ensure the movie's run is smooth. Through his team, he has issued a warning to those who intend to create unnecessary controversies over the actor's political stand and inclination. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Beast is slated to hit the cinema halls on April 13.
Why does this story matter?
In the past, Vijay's films like Mersal and Thalaivaa have faced controversies due to his political opinions. Also, in the days leading up to the release of Beast, we could see memes/posts by Vijay's fans and others doing rounds on social media. Some of those are suggestive of Vijay's political stand and also target a particular political party. So, the actor's warning is significant.

Apart from facing protests, Vijay's films also had to tackle issues like the removal of a few scenes and dialogues. In order to avoid such consequences, the Tamil star issued this statement through Bussy Anand, General Secretary of Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. "We had already issued this advisory based on the instruction of our Thalapathy Vijay," read the statement issued by Anand.
Violators will face expulsion, legal action
Furthermore, Anand warned the association's members of expulsion and legal action if the guidelines aren't followed. "We had initiated action against those who had violated this by removing them from the Iyakkam," the statement said. To note, Iyakkam (which means association) is Vijay's fan club, which is now a social welfare organization. It bagged 129 seats in Tamil Nadu's 2021 rural local body elections.
All you need to know about 'Beast'
Meanwhile, Beast has Pooja Hegde as the leading lady. In the recently released trailer, we see Vijay as a soldier/spy named Veeraraghavan, who accidentally gets stuck inside a mall during a hijack situation. He isn't some regular soldier but "one of the best and most notorious spies we've ever had," as described by a character in the clip. The action thriller also features Selvaraghavan.
