For children: 'Barbie' signed poster, 'Love Actually' script get auctioned
War Child, a non-profit organization committed to aiding children in war zones, is orchestrating a charity auction featuring items from over 70 celebrities. The event, dubbed "Spring Clean," offers an array of unique items including a signed Barbie poster by actor Margot Robbie and the original script of the popular film Love Actually. Among the donated pieces is a limited edition copy of the Saltburn script, signed by its cast and contributed by War Child global ambassador Carey Mulligan.
Unique memorabilia up for grabs in charity auction
The auction features a variety of notable items such as a Dutch oven autographed by Stanley Tucci, and a jacket from the series Sex Education worn by Gillian Anderson. Music lovers can also bid on guitars signed by Ed Sheeran and Nile Rodgers, or a drum skin autographed by Coldplay. In addition to that, fans of The Crown also have the chance to acquire several costumes and a signed script from the acclaimed series.
Additional collectibles and celebrity statements on auction
Additional items include scripts from The Banshees of Inisherin and Evita, signed by Martin McDonagh and Jonathan Pryce, respectively. Also available are a Bradley Cooper-signed book and album titled Maestro, an original soundwaves print from Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill, and a Hulk action figure autographed by Mark Ruffalo. Mulligan expressed her gratitude, stating, "I am grateful to have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of providing vulnerable children and families with the resources they so desperately need."
'Love Actually' script and unseen storylines on offer
Richard Curtis, director of Love Actually, and script editor Emma Freud's contribution includes three unseen storylines that were eventually cut, numerous jokes that didn't make the final cut, and some swearing that was removed. They likened the process of writing a multi-story plot to playing 3D chess. Separately, a poster from Florence + the Machine is also available. The War Child's "Spring Clean" auction started on Thursday and will end on May 16.
