'Bad Newz' collects ₹61.2cr in 20 days at box office
The Bollywood film Bad Newz has managed to collect an estimated ₹61.2 crore in India net collections over its first 20 days at the box office, according to data compiled from various sources. The movie, directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, features Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk, and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles.
Opening day collections and subsequent performance
Bad Newz opened with a collection of ₹8.3 crore on its first day. On the second day, it witnessed a 23.49% increase, earning ₹10.25 crore. The third day saw a further rise of 8.78%, raking in ₹11.15 crore. However, the fourth day experienced a significant drop of 68.61%, earning only ₹3.5 crore at the box office.
'Bad Newz' box office performance in subsequent weeks
The film's first-week collection amounted to ₹42.85 crore, with daily earnings oscillating between ₹2.75 crore and ₹3.75 crore. The second week saw a decrease in collection by 66.98%, earning only ₹14.15 crore. The third week began with a further drop of 56.52%, earning just ₹0.5 crore. Despite a brief surge over the weekend (₹1 crore and ₹1.35 crore on the 16th and 17th days respectively), the film's daily earnings fell to ₹0.45 crore on both the 18th and 19th days.
'Bad Newz' maintains steady earnings on 20th day
On its 20th day at the box office, Bad Newz maintained its earning streak from the previous two days with an estimated collection of around ₹0.45 crore India net. In terms of theater occupancy on August 7, 2024, Bad Newz had an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.55%. The morning shows saw an 8.92% occupancy, followed by 13.25% in the afternoon, 11.36% in the evening, and 12.66% for the night shows.
'Bad Newz' records highest theater occupancy in Chennai
Region-wise, Chennai recorded the highest theater occupancy for Bad Newz at 23%, followed by Hyderabad at 18.5%, Pune at 17.5%, Bengaluru at 13.5%, National Capital Region (NCR) at 12.5%, Mumbai at 12.25%, Kolkata at 8.75%, and Ahmedabad at 6.5%.
