The Bollywood film Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, has raked in an impressive ₹59.9cr India net within its first 17 days of release. The movie features Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk, and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles. In its opening week alone, the film amassed a substantial ₹42.85cr India net.
'Bad Newz' witnesses steady weekend increase, weekday dip
Bad Newz kicked off with an ₹8.3cr collection on its first day, followed by a steady weekend rise to ₹10.25cr and ₹11.15cr on the second and third days respectively. However, the weekdays saw a slight decline in earnings, with collections ranging from ₹2.75cr to ₹3.75cr. Despite this dip, the film's overall performance remained strong throughout its initial release period.
'Bad Newz' continues strong run despite second week drop
In its second week, Bad Newz added another ₹14.15cr to its earnings, despite a significant 66.98% drop compared to the first week's collection. The highest collection during this period was on the second Saturday with ₹3.25cr. As it entered its third week, the film earned around ₹1.4cr on its 17th day, bringing the total collection to an estimated ₹59.9cr India net.
'Bad Newz' sees varied occupancy rates across India
On its 17th day, Bad Newz had an occupancy rate of 26.68% for Hindi shows. The rate fluctuated throughout the day, with 10.66% for morning shows, 34.52% for afternoon shows, peaking at 39.58% for evening shows, and then dropping to 21.95% for night shows. Region-wise, Chennai led with the highest occupancy rate at 61%, followed by Hyderabad at 48%, Bengaluru at 40%, Pune at 38%, and Jaipur at 36%.
