'Bad Newz' collects ₹57cr in 2 weeks at box office
The Bollywood film Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari, has garnered an impressive ₹57cr India net within its first 14 days at the box office. On its 14th day alone (Thursday), the film collected around ₹1.15cr, according to early estimates. The movie had a robust start with an opening day collection of ₹8.3cr and saw increased earnings over the first weekend with collections of ₹10.25cr and ₹11.15cr on the second and third days, respectively.
'Bad Newz' sees significant drop in weekday collections
Despite its strong start, Bad Newz experienced a significant drop in collections during the weekdays. The film earned ₹3.5cr on the first Monday, followed by ₹3.75cr on Tuesday, with further drops to ₹3.15cr and ₹2.75cr on Wednesday and Thursday respectively. This brought the total collection for the first week to a solid ₹42.85cr, demonstrating its initial popularity among audiences despite the mid-week decline.
Second-week collections show mixed results for 'Bad Newz'
In its second week, Bad Newz opened with a collection of ₹2.15cr on Friday, which increased to ₹3.25cr on Saturday and further to ₹3.75cr on Sunday. However, the second Monday saw a sharp drop to ₹1.2cr, followed by slight increases to ₹1.4cr and ₹1.25cr on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Despite the fluctuations in daily collections, the film managed to maintain steady earnings throughout its second week at the box office.
'Bad Newz' records varied occupancy rates across regions
On its 14th day, Bad Newz had an overall 13.23% Hindi occupancy, with morning shows recording an 8.91% occupancy rate, afternoon shows at 15.87%, evening shows at 13.59%, and night shows at 14.56%. Region-wise, Mumbai recorded a 15.5% occupancy rate, National Capital Region (NCR) at 14%, Pune at 16.75%, Bengaluru at 17%, Hyderabad at 14.75%, Kolkata at 11%, and Ahmedabad at a lower rate of 7.5%. Chennai also showed a high occupancy rate of 19.67%.
