'Baahubali 2' had an underwhelming run in China, so far
'Baahubali 2' was expected to shatter records and create new ones at the Chinese box office. The SS Rajamouli's magnum-opus started on a promising note, raking in approximately Rs. 19 crore on day one. However, it failed to show any significant growth over the weekend and the earnings remained on the lower side. Here's more.
Check out the three-day total of 'Baahubali 2' in China
After taking a bigger opening than Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' and Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Baahubali 2' collected Rs. 19.7 crore (approx) on its second day. On Sunday, the film saw an unexpected dip and could only earn around Rs. 15 crore, taking its three-day total to Rs. 51.20 crore. Whereas, 'Dangal' had amassed Rs. 72.68 crore in its first three days in China.

'Baahubali 2' unlikely to dethrone 'Dangal' as India's highest-grossing film
On the back of its tremendous run in China, 'Dangal' went on to become India's highest-grossing film ever. It amassed a massive Rs. 2,025 crore at the worldwide box office, with more than Rs. 1,272 crore coming in from China. On the other hand, 'Baahubali 2' has so far earned over Rs. 1,750 crore and now needs miraculous growth in China to overtake 'Dangal'.
However, 'Baahubali 2' has crossed its prequel in China
'Baahubali 2' stormed ahead of the lifetime collection of 'Baahubali: The Beginning' at the Chinese box office on its first day itself. The prequel had only raked in close to Rs. 8 crore in China. In conclusion, the 'Baahubali' series has failed to woo the Chinese audience.
