Who was the first choice for 'Baadshah' before Twinkle Khanna
Shah Rukh Khan and Twinkle Khanna-starrer Baadshah have completed 25 years. The film, which was a hit on satellite, continues to be popular among viewers. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, producer Ratan Jain of Venus Records And Tapes Pvt Ltd shared some interesting behind-the-scenes details about the film. He revealed that Karisma Kapoor was initially considered for the female lead before Khanna was finalized.
Kapoor was 'almost finalized' for 'Baadshah'
When asked about the casting of Baadshah, Jain reportedly revealed, "Earlier, we had considered Karisma Kapoor. She was almost finalized but then for some reason, she couldn't come on board. Then we looked for a few options. Finally, we locked Twinkle Khanna." However, he also took the opportunity to confirm that Khan was always the first choice for the lead role in the film.
'Baadshah' had to compromise due to a lack of VFX
Baadshah is known for its entertaining scenes, especially those shot in the protagonist's office. However, Jain revealed that the team had to compromise on some effects due to the lack of advanced VFX at the time. "There was no VFX like it is right now. But we did have some effects. Honestly, in some scenes, we were not very happy with the effects," he said.
'Baadshah' had a change in script, reveals Jain
Jain also shared that the film's second half was originally supposed to be different. "The second half was supposed to be something else. But then we changed the script. If you look at the film, the first half is very comic but in the second half, it gets a bit serious." Meanwhile, with the trend of re-releasing films gaining popularity, Jain expressed his willingness to re-release Baadshah along with other Khan-starrers. "It would comprise Baazigar, Baadshah, Yes Boss and Josh."
