Ayushmann Khurrana collaborates with Anees Bazmee; shooting starts in 2025
Ayushmann Khurrana is joining forces with director Anees Bazmee for an upcoming comedy film. The project, which is yet to be named, will be backed by Junglee Pictures, reported Peeping Moon. This collaboration is finally materializing after several unsuccessful attempts to bring the two talents together in recent years. The film is expected to feature a blend of humor, romance, and drama—a signature style of Bazmee.
Why does this story matter?
Earlier this month, reports surfaced indicating that Bazmee has set his sights on Khurrana for his upcoming spooky venture titled Bhootiyapa. An insider informed Mid-Day, "Despite their busy schedules, both Khurrana and Bazmee are determined to make Bhootiyapa a reality...Other details are being worked out." However, it remains unclear whether this project is the same as the one recently reported in collaboration with Junglee Pictures.
Yet-untitled film is currently in its scripting phase: Report
Details about Khurrana and Bazmee's project are currently under wraps. However, speculations suggest that the film could be a horror-comedy or a double-role film, previously associated with Shahid Kapoor. It could also be an entirely new concept, the report suggests. The film is currently in its scripting phase with production set to begin in 2025. Bazmee also has No Entry 2 scheduled for a 2025 release.
Khurrana, Junglee Pictures to collaborate for the fourth time
This upcoming comedy will mark Khurrana's fourth collaboration with Junglee Pictures. Their previous successful ventures include Bareilly Ki Barfi, Badhaai Ho, and Doctor G. Both Khurrana and Bazmee will start working on this project after completing their current commitments. Bazmee is currently directing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 featuring Kartik Aaryan, Tripti Dimri, and Vidya Balan, while Khurrana has some projects in the pipeline. The shooting schedule for the new film is yet to be finalized.
Meanwhile, look at Khurrana's upcoming projects
Khurrana has committed to four new exciting projects. First on his agenda is a spy comedy in collaboration with Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, slated to commence filming around July. Following this, he is set to delve into the world of horror comedy with Maddock Films's Vampires of Vijay Nagar, starring alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Khurrana's schedule will then see him embodying the legendary Sourav Ganguly in the much-anticipated biopic helmed by Vikramaditya Motwane.
