Anees Bazmee eyeing Ayushmann Khurrana for next spooky venture, 'Bhootiyapa'
Anees Bazmee seems to have developed a penchant for horror-comedy flicks! With his hands full directing the much-anticipated third installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the prolific director is reportedly eyeing Ayushmann Khurrana for his next spooky venture, titled Bhootiyapa. "Despite their busy schedules, both Khurrana and Bazmee are determined to make Bhootiyapa a reality...Other details are being worked out," an insider told Mid-Day.

"Bazmee is planning to roll the No Entry sequel by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Khurrana has the Sourav Ganguly biopic in the offing. So, the actor-director duo are figuring out when they can roll their laugh riot," the source disclosed. Meanwhile, earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, when asked about collaborating with Bazmee, Khurrana refrained from divulging many details. He simply stated that he would share more whenever there was something to discuss.
Khurrana's journey in Bollywood
Khurrana's Bollywood career began with the surprise hit Vicky Donor. Despite a few less successful ventures like Nautanki Saala, Bewakoofiyaan, and Hawaizaada, his career trajectory took an upward turn with the film Dum Laga Ke Haisha alongside Bhumi Pednekar. His subsequent roles in films such as Meri Pyaari Bindu, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan further cemented his place in the industry.

Khurrana's performance in Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun won him critical acclaim and is considered one of his most iconic roles. This was followed by the audience favorite, Badhaai Ho, which has become a part of pop culture due to its unique storyline. Khurrana continued to impress with his roles in Article 15, Dream Girl, Bala, and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan. He was last seen in the 2023's Dream Girl 2, which was a box-office success.

As of now, Arjun Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan have been confirmed for No Entry 2, while discussions for female leads are still ongoing.
