Piracy hits Bollywood again, and its latest target is Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl. According to media reports, the recently released movie, which hit the theaters yesterday, was leaked online within hours of its release. The media reports also suggested that the movie was leaked in HD quality, and is available for free download on various piracy websites. Here's more.
Will the leak take a toll on the movie's collection?
To note, this Raaj Shaandilyaa directorial opened to great reviews at the box office. The movie will have a decent start in terms of collection, states a Box Office India report. In fact, Dream Girl is likely to become Ayushmann's biggest opener at the box office, the report added. However, the online leak might take a toll on the movie's collection.
Earlier, piracy giant Tamilrockers had targeted 'Saaho', 'Chhichhore,' 'Kabir Singh'
Notably, Dream Girl isn't the only new release that has fallen prey to piracy. Earlier, several big ones like Saaho, Kabir Singh, Chhichhore, Article 15, The Lion King, and Spider-Man: Far From Home faced its wrath. The pirated versions of these movies, irrespective of their language and genre, were put out for free download within a day of its release by piracy giant Tamilrockers.
"Was unique because it is going back to the roots"
Talking about Dream Girl, it is a story of a small-town guy, played by Ayushmann, whose ability to speak in a female voice leads to hilarious situations. While talking about the movie, the actor stated that the uniqueness and quirkiness of his character drew him to the movie. "It was unique in a way because it's going back to the roots," he added.
He used to take 3.5 hours to get ready
Obviously, transforming from Karam to Pooja for the movie wasn't a cakewalk for Ayushmann. In fact, it used to take him almost three and a half hours to get ready before the shoot. Sharing his experience, he stated, "Dressing up like a female is a task." He also shared a hilarious video on social media showing his transformation to Pooja for Dream Girl.
