Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Badhaai Ho' gears up for an entertaining sequel
Ayushmann Khurrana's Badhaai Ho, which bagged two awards at the 66th National Film Awards, is all set to have a sequel. According to reports, after this big win and the movie's massive success, makers are planning to turn it into a franchise. The sequel, tentatively titled as Badhaai Ho 2, will apparently be a social-comedy with a hidden important message, just like the original.
'Badhaai Ho 2' to hit floors next year
As per a report published in Pune Mirror, the makers have locked the script of the sequel. The movie, which will revolve around a joint family and two couples, will start rolling next year. Currently, makers "are on the lookout to finalize on the cast."
'Badhaai Ho' narrated an unusual story through a powerful cast
To jog your memory, the 2018 release Badhaai Ho revolved around a middle-aged couple (played by Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta) who were expecting a baby. The movie also starred Sanya Malhotra and Surekha Sikri in key roles. Notably, Sikri won the Best Supporting Actress Award at this year's National Awards. The film also won the Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award.
For now, Ayushmann is working on 'Shubh Mangal Savdhaan' sequel
Interestingly, this will be Ayushmann's second sequel so far. The actor is currently working on the upcoming sequel of his 2017 release Shubh Mangal Savdhaan. Titled as Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, the movie will be a gay comedy and will be helmed by Aanand L. Rai. To note, SMZS will also mark Ayushmann's reunion with his Badhaai Ho co-stars Neena and Gajraj.
Ayushmann is gearing up for Ekta Kapoor's 'Dream Girl'
Ayushmann is also working on Ekta Kapoor's Dream Girl. In it, he plays the role of a small-town guy whose ability to speak in a female voice leads to hilarious situations. Apparently, he has dubbed 25% of the dialogs in a woman's voice. The film will see a release on September 13 this year, and will have a five-city trailer launch, originating from Mumbai.
