My family needs me: Ayushmann Khurrana announces break from films
Ayushmann Khurrana, who has been giving back-to-back hits for more than a year now, has decided to take a break from films for a while. Citing his desire to strike balance between work and personal life, the actor plans to spend time with his family after November. Furthermore, the break could last for two to three months, the actor informed news agency IANS.
"I'm taking time off from mid-November to be with family"
Ayushmann, who has delivered four super successful films in the last one year, said, "All of last year and most of this year, I was shooting four back-to-back films. So this past one year was tough." "But now I am taking care of it, and I will strike a balance. I am taking time off from mid-November to be with my family," he added.
Ayushmann first has to complete pending projects, before the break
As per schedule, Ayushmann has to wrap up the promotions of Bala, which releases on November 22, and finish shooting Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan, which comes up next year, before he goes on the said leave. "I will soon have to get busy with the promotion of Bala even as I complete my work on Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan," the 35-year-old actor stated.
My children and wife need time from me: Ayushmann
"I haven't signed any film after Bala. After November 15, I am completely free to spend time with my family," Ayushmann said. "I do realize my children are growing up and my wife needs time from me. I am making a conscious attempt to take time off work periodically," the Badhaai Ho actor summed, adding that he will keep checking scripts during the break.
Ayushmann got married in 2008; is father to two kids
As is evident from his decision, Ayushmann is very close to his family. He married filmmaker and childhood sweetheart Tahira Kashyap back in 2008. The couple are parents to a 7-year-old son named Virajveer, and a 5-year-old daughter, Varushka. However, the family faced a tough time last year, when Tahira was diagnosed with breast cancer. Meanwhile, Ayushmann has been quite supportive throughout her treatment.
From 'Bala' to 'Gulabo Sitabo', Ayushmann has three films lined-up
Ayushmann has three films in the pipeline, namely Bala, Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan, and Gulabo Sitabo. Bala, a satirical black comedy film, directed by Amar Kaushik, is set to release on November 22, this year.
