'Avengers: Endgame' soon to become highest grossing film ever
In an incredible feat, Marvel Cinematic Universe's Avengers: Endgame has already crossed the $2 billion mark globally on Sunday. Mere eleven days after its release, the film is already the second-highest grossing film of all time, behind James Cameron's 2009 science fiction film Avatar, which has an all-time global collection of $2.8 billion (Rs. 19,426cr). 'Endgame' surpassed 'Titanic' to become second-highest grosser
On Sunday, Endgame recorded a global box office collection of $2.188bn (Rs. 15,180cr) and surpassed the former second-highest grosser Titanic (1997), which earned $2.187bn (Rs. 15,173cr). In its second weekend, the film collected $145.8mn (Rs. 1,011.48cr) at the US box office and $282.2mn (Rs. 1,957.76cr) overseas. Earlier the film had shattered records by collecting $1.209bn (Rs. 8,440cr) in its opening weekend.
'Endgame' fifth movie to cross $2bn mark
Avengers: Endgame is only the fifth movie to have crossed the $2 billion mark on the global box office along with Avatar, Titanic, the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068bn/Rs. 14,344cr), and the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War ($2.048bn/Rs. 14,206cr).
'Endgame' only Hollywood film to join Rs. 300cr club
In India, Endgame collected Rs. 2,89.75cr till Saturday and trade analyst Taran Adarsh predicted that it crossed the Rs. 300cr mark on Sunday. Endgame is the first Hollywood film to join the Rs. 300cr club alongside PK (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016), Dangal (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Padmaavat (2018), Sanju (2018), and Baahubali 2 (2017) in the Rs. 500cr club.
