Russo brothers reveal 'Avengers: Endgame' runtime and Thanos' plans
Avengers: Endgame is coming in April 2019. While the film details were kept under wraps for the longest time, the trailer was released recently and fans went wild. Now, the directors, Russo brothers have decided to be a little generous with the movie details and in a recent interview, divulged the runtime of the movie and Thanos' plans. Read all about it here.
It'll be a 'big movie with a lot of story'
Speaking about the runtime of the movie, Joe Russo said that there was a high probability the film would have an estimated time of 3 hours, making it the longest movie in MCU. This is unsurprising since the film ends the current phase of MCU and has to tie up loose ends. Thus, it will be a 'big movie with a lot of story'.
Post success, Thanos will enjoy retirement
From what the trailer and Avengers: Infinity War has shown us, Thanos has hung up his uniform, literally. Joe said that Thanos is enjoying retirement in the agrarian planet where we see him. Presumably, having succeeded in his mission of finger snapping half of the universe into non-existence, he achieved what he set out to do. Thus, 'He's done. He did it. He's retired'.
Directors hint at a united universe; former foes to ally?
While Thanos enjoys his retirement, the rest of the universe is left in shambles after the incidents of Infinity War. The directors described this universe as being united by their tragedy and suffering, after having "experienced the same fate." They also hinted at the universe being "brought together by this experience," thus we can expect former foes to ally, seeking to avenge their fallen.
This would never work, unless they had something to avenge
Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D, had said once that the Avengers worked best when they had something to avenge. Thanos' finger snap took away their loved ones, and they will be looking to exact every ounce of revenge. Hawkeye returning as Ronin proves that. We believe, a mission will be mounted to attack Thanos, while he is in retirement, to bring about the Endgame.
