What's the story

Marvel Studios has revealed the cast of its Avengers: Doomsday, but fans shouldn't expect the list to be final.

The studio revealed names on the back of 27 chairs in a live stream on X, unveiling a new star every 13 minutes.

However, heavy hitters like Spider-Man, The Hulk, Star-Lord, and Daredevil were notably missing, among other upsets.

Reports suggest this was only a partial cast list, or mentioned only those credited with lead roles.

Cast missing

Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland were more or less confirmed

Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch has confirmed his return for at least one Avengers movie. Reliable sources have also indicated that Tom Holland will play a key role as Spider-Man.

However, both actors weren't included in the initial chair reveal. Chris Evans's absence from the cast announcement has raised eyebrows, but The Hollywood Reporter maintains he will appear in at least one of the two-part movies.

Marvel is not done with the cast reveal

Despite the announcement of 27 actors, reports have indicated that Marvel isn't through with the cast reveal.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote, "Sources say that even with 27 actors announced, Marvel wasn't done with revealing the entire cast, although when and how another unveiling would occur was unclear."

The story would have fans hoping for another long reveal video on the horizon.
