Two heavyweights from the Hindi entertainment industry—Vijay Raaz and Ashutosh Rana—are set to headline the upcoming suspense drama series Murder in Mahim. The series is set to premiere on JioCinema Premium on May 10, revealed the makers through a trailer announcement on Friday. It is an adaptation of a highly praised novel of the same name by Jerry Pinto.

Murder in Mahim, directed by Raj Acharya, is a production of Tipping Point Films and Jigsaw Pictures. The series unfolds a chilling murder mystery set in Mumbai's underbelly. The plot revolves around the rekindling of a lost bond between characters Peter, played by Rana, and Jende, portrayed by Raaz. The narrative takes an unexpected turn when Peter's son becomes the prime suspect in a gruesome murder at Mahim station.

Rana, who portrays Peter, expressed his enthusiasm for the role. He stated, "Peter's inner struggle amid the complexities of the murder investigation allowed me to add depth to the character." Raaz also shared his excitement about playing Jende, saying, "My effort was to bring a humane touch to this character, which is evident in the investigation scenes, but at the same time, there is aggression on the personal front which comes out in front of his family."

Rana, who was recently seen in Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond on the same streamer, is a part of the ensemble cast of the upcoming web series Gangs of Ghaziabad. It also stars Sunny Leone, Shatrughan Sinha, and Abhimanyu Singh. Raaz, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of Kartam Bhugtam, which also features Shreyas Talpade and Madhoo. It has been directed by Soham P Shah and will release on May 17.
