Armie Hammer denies cannibalism claims, opens up about 'rape' allegations
What's the story
Hollywood actor Armie Hammer once again denied allegations of cannibalism and sexual abuse in a recent interview on the Louis Theroux podcast on Spotify.
When Theroux asked if he was a cannibal (a person who eats the flesh of humans), Hammer said, "You know what you have to do to actually be a cannibal? You have to actually eat human flesh. So no."
Cannibal allegations emerged against the actor in 2021.
Text controversy
Hammer addressed controversial text messages
Hammer spoke about the controversial text messages that emerged in 2021, in which he allegedly declared himself a cannibal.
He told Theroux that he was "not going to argue the messages" but they formed "one side of a conversation."
Denying that he ever ate an animal's heart, Hammer said: "You take a bite out of the heart, you've got all your buddies around you, they're goading you on...it's sort of like an almost overly charged male rite of passage."
Behavior admission
Hammer denied criminal behavior, admitted to being 'a d*k'
Further in the interview, Hammer denied that his behavior was criminal.
He said, "I left a lot of people in that wake very angry at me for my behavior...Asshole behavior. There's no way around that...Does it make me a d**k? Absolutely. Like, I have no problem admitting that. I was a d**k."
"That's not illegal," he added.
This comes after a woman—in 2021—alleged that he sexually abused her in 2017.
Post-scandal life
Hammer discussed life after scandal and future plans
Hammer also opened up about his life after the scandal, which saw much of his acting work canceled.
He revealed that he entered a "trauma treatment facility," calling it "one of the most helpful things that I've ever done for myself."
Despite past setbacks, Hammer shared that more acting work is coming his way with "offers coming in every week."
