Arjun Rampal's brother-in-law accused of molesting air hostess; held
Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal's brother-in-law Amit Gill has been taken into custody by the Mumbai Police for allegedly molesting an air hostess. Amit has also been accused of threatening to post her pictures online. The air hostess, who is said to be Gill's client, had filed a complaint with the police. Here's more.
The incident reportedly transpired at Gill's resident
As per a media report, Gill had invited the air hostess at his bungalow and had spiked her drink. He then took obscene photos of her and threatened to put them on social media. The report further states that the air hostess had given him Rs. 18 lakh to invest who later refused to return the principal amount as well as the interest.
Here's what an official of the Santacruz police station said
"There was an agreement between Gill and the victim's mother about the same. Gill had promised returns at 3 percent per month to the victim, who thought that with this interest money, she would be able to take care of her mother," an official said.
Investigations are underway
Paramjit Singh Dahiya, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone IX says, "We have registered a case against Gill and are investigating the matter." Gill has been booked under Sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 354 (sexual harassment), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Gill has previously been arrested for allegedly betting money in a cricket match.
