Born on August 4, 1967, Indian actor, film director, and producer Arbaaz Khan has worked in Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, and Malayalam language films and also Television series. Son of screenwriter Salim Khan, and brother of actors Salman Khan, and Sohail Khan, Khan is best known for his supporting roles, and for producing the ‘Dabangg’ trilogy under his production banner Arbaaz Khan Productions. Khan made his Bollywood debut with the 1996 movie ‘Daraar’ as a villain, which earned him his first Filmfare Award. As of 2021, Khan has worked in over 40 movies some of which were blockbuster hits including ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ (1998), ‘Qayamat: City Under Threat’ (2003), ‘Garv: Pride and Honour’ (2004), ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ (2007) and the ‘Dabangg’ trilogy (2010-2019). ‘Dabangg’ is one of the blockbuster hits of Indian cinema grossing over $19 million in the Indian market and over $6.10 million in the international market. Khan has been often embroiled in controversies. In 2012, a Land Cruiser owned by Khan killed a 70-year-old woman. The family of the victim demanded compensation, however, the Khan family refused to pay the compensation as the family had disowned the woman. In 2018, Khan confessed to betting on the Indian Premier League matches, for five consecutive years. Director Abhinav Kashyap, who directed ‘Dabanng’ accused Khan, his father, and brothers of sabotaging his career. Khan was married to actor-model Malaika Arora. The couple got divorced in 2017.
