'Aranmanai 4' breaks box office records, grosses ₹100 crore
Aranmanai 4, a Tamil horror-comedy directed by Sundar C, has set new records at the Kollywood box office. The film has become the first Tamil movie of 2024 to gross ₹100 crore worldwide. This milestone was achieved within three weeks of its release. The film's producers, Avni Media and Benzz Media Pvt. Ltd., celebrated this achievement by stating, "A celebration in theaters, a phenomenon at the box office."
'Aranmanai 4' has been consistently outperforming other films domestically
The fourth installment in the Aranmanai franchise has outperformed other films at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, Aranmanai 4 grossed approximately ₹63 crore domestically, including ₹56.5 crore from the Tamil version and ₹5.5 crore from the Telugu version. This collection surpassed the haul of the Malayalam hit film Manjummel Boys at the Tamil Nadu box office, marking another significant achievement for Sundar's film.
'Aranmanai 4' achieved international success, surpassed 'Ayalaan'
In addition to its domestic success, Aranmanai 4 also performed well overseas, garnering ₹16 crore in just 17 days. This international success led to the film overtaking Ayalaan, Sivakarthikeyan's science fiction film that was released in January and had grossed approximately ₹76.5 crore by the end of its run. As a result, Ayalaan is now only the second highest-grossing Tamil film of the year, with Sundar's horror-comedy taking the top spot.
