'Aranmanai 4' witnesses box office high, crosses ₹50cr mark globally
Sundar C's latest directorial venture, Aranmanai 4, is making significant strides at the box office. The fourth installment of the popular Aranmanai franchise was released last Friday (May 3) and has been receiving positive reviews from both audiences and critics. Starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna in key roles, the film earned around ₹6 crore on the sixth day of its release (Wednesday).
'Aranmanai 4's domestic haul stands at ₹40 crore
According to a trade report by Cinetrak, Aranmanai 4 has amassed approximately ₹51 crore globally after six days. Its total collection has reached ₹32 crore in Tamil Nadu alone, with the domestic haul standing at around ₹40 crore. On the sixth day, the film recorded an occupancy rate of 23% in Tamil markets and 15% in Telugu, according to Sacnilk data.

The Aranmanai franchise, a comedy horror series in the Tamil language, is directed by Sundar C, who has helmed all four parts. The ensemble cast of Aranmanai 4 includes Sundar C himself, alongside Santhosh Prathap, Ramachandra Raju, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, and Delhi Ganesh. The film's music is composed by Hiphop Tamizha while E Krishnasamy and Fenny Oliver have handled cinematography and editing respectively.

Despite a dearth of hit films in the Tamil cinema industry in 2024, the success of Aranmanai 4 suggests a possible change in trend. The Tamil Nadu box office has also seen success with Malayalam films like Manjummel Boys, Premalu, and Aavesham, as well as Hollywood's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Vijay's Ghilli re-release. This indicates a diverse range of successful releases this year.
