'Sarkar' insults former CM Jayalalithaa, claims AIADMK
AIADMK claims the movie, which stars Vijay, insulted Jayalalithaa and her government's schemes. Several AIADMK leaders staged protests against 'Sarkar' makers pressurizing them to remove the controversial scenes. They have also "demanded that the theaters stop screening the movie until the objectionable scenes are removed".
With time protests grew louder, minister warned Murugadoss
Unsurprisingly, the controversy blew up after the movie's release and demands to truncate objectionable scenes became louder. Tamil Nadu minister Kadambur Raju also warned Murugadoss. It was reported that owing to the controversies, Chennai police visited the director's residence late on Thursday night with an intention to arrest him. However, he wasn't arrested. Murugadoss even wrote about the incident on Twitter.
