Acclaimed director A.R. Murugadoss, known for the blockbusters Ghajini and Holiday, has hinted at possible sequels to the hits.
Murugadoss, in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, said he is considering sequels to both films.
"I have some idea and I want to develop that into Holiday 2 with Akshay Kumar or Thupakki 2," he said.
Thupakki inspired Holiday and starred Vijay.

The director said, "Holiday/Thupakki is another film that calls for a sequel, given that the characters are relevant even today."
"The sleeper cell concept was very unique for that time. I have some idea and I want to develop that into Holiday 2 with Akshay (Kumar) sir or Thupakki 2."
"I will definitely make Holiday 2 or Thupakki 2 in the future."
'Ghajini' sequel
Will 'Ghajini 2' happen?
Speaking about a potential sequel to Ghajini, the filmmaker said, "We have some ideas for Ghajini 2 and will have to develop them now. Suriya acted in the Tamil version and Aamir Khan in the Hindi."
"So who will be the hero of Ghajini 2? We have to discuss."
The Tamil version was released in 2005 and the Hindi version followed in 2008.
Animation film
Murugadoss's plans for an animated project
The filmmaker added that he is planning an animated film for kids.
"I [am planning] one animation film. It's in the early stage to discuss, but all I can say is it is a kids' film," he said.
"It has been a while since we made kids film in India. So, I am attempting to make a franchise out of that. Then I will do another big film. I also want to do a film with full new faces."

Murugadoss revealed how he landed 'Sikandar'
Murugadoss's upcoming flick Sikandar, featuring Salman Khan, is releasing on March 30.
The director opened up about the film, saying, "I met him [Salman] a couple of times after Ghajini, and discussed multiple ideas, but things never materialized."
"And finally, one day Sajid (Nadiadwala) sir called me and this opportunity came up."
Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj.
