Born on November 7, 1981, as Sweety Shetty, Indian actress Anushka Shetty mainly works in Tamil and Telugu movies and is one of the highest-paid actresses in the Indian film industry. Popularly known as Lady Superstar, Shetty has several awards and accolades under her belt. She began her career in 2005 with the Telugu movie ‘Super’ alongside Nagarjuna and Ayesha Takia. The movie was a commercial success. However, after working on some commercially successful movies, Shetty got a breakthrough with the 2009 movie ‘Arundhati,’ a fantasy drama where the actress played a double role for the first time. Not only was the movie a commercial success, but the actress was also critically lauded for her performance. She earned Nandi Special Jury Award and Filmfare Best Actress Award for the movie. As of 2021, Shetty has worked in more than 50 movies, including the blockbuster hits ‘Baahubali: The Beginning,’ (2005) and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017). Shetty has received three CineMAA Awards, one Nandi Award, one TAMIL Nadu State Film Award, and three Filmfare Awards. Shetty graduated from Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru.
