Anushka Sharma steps away from production house Clean Slate Filmz
Actor-producer Anushka Sharma was one of the earliest female actors to establish their own production houses. In 2013, she co-founded Clean Slate Filmz (CSF) with her brother, producer Karnesh Ssharma, and produced several highly-acclaimed films and web shows like NH10 and Paatal Lok. However, CSF will now undergo a major change as Sharma is stepping away from the firm, leaving control in Ssharma's hands.
Sharma wishes to dedicate her time to 'first love'
On Saturday, the Band Baaja Baarat star took to her social media handles to announce her departure from CSF. Stating she is "deeply proud" of the firm's journey, Sharma noted how after becoming a new mother, she has had to balance life "in an entirely new fashion like never before." Thus, she wishes to dedicate whatever time she has to her "first love, acting."
Sharma expressed trust in brother's ability to take things forward
"While CSF started with my vision to change the narrative of what commercial projects should be like, I have to credit [Ssharma] who has excelled in shaping what CSF has become today," read the actor's statement. Calling Ssharma "the most able person," the Phillauri actor said she was confident about her brother being able to take forward the production firm with their original vision.

Meanwhile, Sharma is gearing up for acting comeback
Notably, the website of Clean Slate Filmz has already been updated and there is no mention of the actor. However, Sharma will continue to star in projects bankrolled by the banner. In fact, the actor is gearing up for her acting comeback with Chakda Xpress, which is a CSF endeavor. It is a biopic of former Indian women's national cricket team captain Jhulan Goswami.
CSF signed some big deals in recent past
The news of this major revamp comes just over a fortnight after CSF announced a digital branch was in the works. Called Clean OTT, the platform will be the "world's only female-oriented original content streaming platform." Before that, in January, the production and distribution firm had also signed a deal worth $54 million (around Rs. 400 crore) with Amazon.com Inc. and Netflix Inc.
