Virat credits Anushka for his success in SA Series
Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who led his team to a historic ODI series win against South Africa on their home turf, had a special mention for wife Anushka Sharma in the post-match ceremony. The skipper thanked his 'Pari' for her unconditional support during the SA tour. He credited Anushka for his tremendous success in the 6-match series.
Here's what Virat said
"People who contribute off the field, they deserve a lot of credit as well. My wife who keeps me motivated deserves a lot of credit. She's been criticized a lot in the past. But she's one person who's kept me going throughout the tour," Virat said.
Fingers have been pointed at Anushka before
There was a time when the blame for Virat's not so great performance in a few matches was put on Anushka's presence in the stadium. At that point too, Virat stood up for the love of his life. He gave it back to the haters with an Instagram post where he emphasized on how Anushka has always encouraged him to do his best.
India's maiden ODI series victory in SA
Bouncing back from the defeat in the Test series, team India hammered Aiden Markram's team 5-1 and scripted history. Virat, the man of the series, led from the front and became the first cricketer in the world to score 558 runs in a bilateral series.
