Kangana exits 'Imali'. Director Anurag Basu gives his reaction
When Kangana Ranaut announced Imali with Anurag Basu, the actor-director duo was quite excited about their collaboration. However, surprising all, Kangana, who debuted with Anurag's Gangster (2006), recently walked out of the project to focus on her directorial venture. While her fans are disappointed, Anurag supported Kangana's decision and stated that they are destined to work together again.
Constant delay in 'Imali' shooting created confusion about dates: Anurag
Anurag further stated that the constant delay in Imali shooting created a lot of confusion about dates. As a result, Kangana wasn't left with any other option but to leave the project. "We were supposed to start the film last November. But then Manikarnika schedule got changed. Then I got busy with my current film, and then she got busy with Panga," Anurag added.
Kangana has extremely busy schedule, three projects in kitty
Kangana too said about how Manikarnika reshoot forced her exit from Imali. "Imali was supposed to go on floors in November 2018. But I had to reshoot Manikarnika. So, I had to push Imali," said Kangana, who has three big projects in her kitty - Mental Hai Kya, Panga and Jayalalithaa's biopic. The 32-year-old will also be working on her upcoming directorial venture.
Kangana said leaving 'Imali' was a difficult call to make
Furthermore, Kangana admitted that leaving Imali was a difficult call to make as it was her third collaboration with Anurag after Gangster and Life In A Metro. "I'm on the verge of announcing my own film in a few weeks from now. That has taken a lot of my time and I have conveyed it to Anurag, who understood my situation," the actress mentioned.
Anurag, I will work together at some point: Kangana
Just like Anurag, Kangana also believes that they are destined to work together at some point of time. "We will work together at some point. Imali is a beautiful love story and we can do that later," Kangana was quoted as saying.
