'Squid Game' star Anupam Tripathi's surprising Salman Khan connection
Anupam Tripathi, who gained global fame for his role in the South Korean series Squid Game, has revealed an interesting link with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Tripathi shared that one of his initial projects in South Korea was connected to Khan. The actor also expressed his desire to work with the Bollywood star in the future.
Tripathi's debut film was remade into 'Bharat'
Tripathi started his acting career in 2016 with the South Korean film An Ode to My Father. This film was later remade in Hindi as Bharat, which starred Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. When asked about the remake, Tripathi said, "I watched Bharat, and Ode to My Father is the original. Bharat has its own beauty; it was made in an Indianized way."
Tripathi expresses desire to work with Khan
Tripathi further added that he found Bharat interesting to watch and would love the opportunity to work with Khan in the future. He also expressed interest in starring in a comedy film similar to Khan's Kick or Ready. This revelation highlights Tripathi's versatility as an actor, as he continues to explore different genres and roles in his acting career.
Tripathi shares birthday with Shah Rukh Khan
In addition to his connection with Khan, Tripathi also revealed that he shares his birthday with another Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan. "We share the same birthday. There's so much to learn from him—about life, acting, and work," said Tripathi. He also praised SRK for his inspiring speeches and his ability to encourage others to dream big.
Tripathi to star in 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack'
Tripathi is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. The actor shared that he was called for an audition in March 2023 and was confirmed for the role within a day. The series, based on the real-life hijacking of IC 814 aircraft in 1999, is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Thursday.
