Anupam Kher asks Musk why his X account was locked
What's the story
Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher recently discovered his X (formerly Twitter) account locked, leaving him baffled.
Despite being a long-time user who has "always been mindful of rules," he was taken aback to see his account inaccessible.
After regaining access, Kher asked X's owner Elon Musk to explain the unexpected lockout.

Kher's message to Musk following account restoration
Upon regaining access to his account, Kher expressed his surprise at the lockout in a message to Musk.
He wrote, "Dear X! Even though my account has been restored I was surprised to see it locked. I have been on this platform since September 2007. Have always been mindful of rules of #X (formerly Twitter)."
"Or for that matter any social media copyright rules. So found it a little absurd."
DMCA notice
'Which post of mine did violate your rules?'
Kher shared a screenshot of his X account lock notification, which cited a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Notice) as the reason behind the lock.
The notice explained that copyright owners can notify X if they think a user has infringed upon their copyrighted works.
In such cases, X removes the identified material upon receiving a valid DMCA notice.
Kher was left perplexed, he asked, "Would love to know which post of mine did violate your rules?"
