'Antakshari' trailer: Vipin Das's next film is a mind-bending thriller
SonyLIV has dropped the trailer for their upcoming thriller, Antakshari. The clip focuses on the film's leading man, a police inspector played by Saiju Kurup, his peculiar interest toward the musical game of Antakshari and a lot more. The release date has not been declared yet, but after watching the trailer, we cannot wait for the film to get released.
Why does this story matter?
Vipin Das, best known for his critically acclaimed film Mudhugauv, is at the helm. Jeethu Joseph, who set a milestone for the Indian film industry with his taut thrillers Drishyam and Drishyam 2, is presenting this film. The basic concept of giving our favorite childhood game, Antakshari, a macabre twist is interesting and intriguing. But, let's wait till the film drops on our screens.
What does the trailer offer?
In the trailer, one thing becomes clear: Das is obsessed with Antakshari and he uses it as a tactic to interrogate the prisoners. But, this very game is "set to change the course" of his life and he is unaware of the same. The background music creates a tensed up atmosphere which is in sync with the video. But, the plot thankfully remains cloudy.
Different people portraying different human emotions?
We also see people from various walks of life donning different dresses and hairstyles getting featured in the trailer. Are they our range of emotions? Meanwhile we don't know who the villain will be, but a small boy running menacingly with a sickle in hand toward his target looks like the possible antagonist. If that's the case, Antakshari has a lot riding on it.
