Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan set to reunite after 7 years
Ajay Devgn seems to be on a multi-starrer project spree these days. After being roped in for RRR (with Jr. NTR and Ram Charan), Bhuj: The Pride of India (with Sanjay Dutt), etc, the actor has now been approached for a project that will see him reuniting with Abhishek Bachchan after seven years. This yet-to-be-titled drama will be directed by Kookie Gulati.
"Ajay loved the subject and immediately agreed to back it"
As per a Mumbai Mirror report, the movie will be based on true events related to India's financial system. "It is based on real events that took place between 1990 and 2000 and changed India's financial fabric," a source stated. The report further suggested that Ajay will be bankrolling the project. "Ajay loved the subject and immediately agreed to back it," the source added.
Ajay, Abhishek were last seen in 2012 release 'Bol Bachchan'
Notably, the movie will mark Ajay's fifth collaboration with Abhishek. The two have worked in LOC Kargil (2003), Zameen (2003), Yuva (2004) and Bol Bachchan (2012). In all these films, they have literally brought forth their real-life friendship on-screen, thus winning hearts for their chemistry.
Ileana to play a key role in Abhishek, Ajay-starrer
Interestingly, this movie will also mark Ajay's reunion with Ileana D'Cruz, his co-star in Baadshaho (2017) and Raid (2018). "Ileana has a very strong role in the film but is not paired opposite Abhishek. The team is on the lookout for an actress to be paired with him," the source stated. We wonder if she would get to romance Ajay for the third time.
Film to go on floors by the end of 2019
Reportedly, the team has begun the pre-production of the movie and is likely to start recce soon. If media reports are to be believed, this movie, to be produced by Ajay Devgn FFilms, will hit the floors by end of this year.
Ajay has three multi-starrer releases lined up for 2020
For now, Ajay is looking forward to his three 2020 releases. He's currently shooting for Bhuj: The Pride of India also starring Parineeti Chopra, Rana Daggubati, Ammy Virk, etc. He will also be seen in his home production Taanaji - The Unsung Warrior along with wife Kajol and Saif Ali Khan. In RRR, Ajay will play the role of a freedom fighter.
