After 'DNA,' BTS's 'Boy With Luv' hits 1.2bn YouTube views
BTS is on a record making (or breaking?) spree. Another of their song, Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey), clocked in 1.2bn views on YouTube. This is the third composition by the Korean septet to clock in over 1bn views on the video sharing platform, after DNA that had hit the spot this February. Their monstrous hit, Dynamite, also reached 1bn views on YouTube.
It was the lead title track of their sixth EP
This makes them the quickest Korean boy group to reach this milestone, which happened just two days before their much-awaited online event, Bang Bang Con 2021. Boy with Luv released on April 12, 2019 and marked BTS's first-ever collaboration with Grammy nominated American singer Halsey. It was the lead title track of their sixth EP (Extended Play) called Map Of The Soul: Persona.
'Boy with Luv' took just two years to achieve this
The upbeat track took a little over two years to reach the record views. A Japanese version of the song was released in July 2019. Boy with Luv was also certified Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), Billboard had reported in 2019.
Their much anticipated online event is premiering soon
The K-pop band is currently getting ready for Bang Bang Con 2021. The special online event is scheduled to premiere on April 17 at 3 pm KST (11:30 am in India) on their YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. Fans are hoping to hear their hit new single Film Out live in the online concert. The song has been received well by the critics as well.
What's next in store for the K-pop dynamo?
The inaugural Bang Bang Con that took place last April was a two-day online concert series. The free event included some exciting live performance footage dating all the way back to 2015. Apart from that, the K-pop dynamo will be completing their eighth year together this June. They also have plans to release their Japanese album, BTS, The Best on June 16 this year.
