Don't miss 'Demon Slayer,' 'Your Name' at Delhi Anime Fest
The capital city of India, Delhi, is set to host a vibrant cultural celebration this weekend, Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! (MMAJ), organized by the Japan Consulate in collaboration with Crunchyroll. The two-day event will take place at Pacific Mall in Tagore Garden from Saturday (September 28) to Sunday (September 29). The festival promises an immersive experience for Otakus and Japanese culture enthusiasts with a lineup of J-pop performances, anime screenings, fan activities, and exclusive merchandise.
'Demon Slayer,' 'JJK' to be screened at MMAJ
The festival will feature both ticketed and free film screenings. Notably, the first episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc (Season 4) will be shown exclusively for fans by Crunchyroll. Other non-ticketed screenings include Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, Attack on Titan, and 5 Centimeters per Second. Ticketed screenings comprise films by renowned Japanese filmmaker Makoto Shinkai like Your Name, Weathering With You, and Suzume along with Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Spy X Family Code: White.
J-pop performances and interactive experiences at MMAJ
The festival will also feature live performances by J-pop band spira spica, a solo project by vocalist Mikaha. DJ Kazu, known for his recent performance at Mumbai Comic Con, will be entertaining the audience with his electrifying melodies on both days of the event. The Crunchyroll booth at MMAJ will offer interactive experiences such as the Blue Lock Game and a special photo-op station where fans can win prizes and take home printed keepsakes.
Exclusive anime merchandise available at MMAJ
Fans attending the festival will have the opportunity to acquire exclusive swag bags filled with anime goodies. These bags will include items such as postcards, stickers, and other surprises.
