Shilpa, Shamita, their mother summoned in non-repayment of loan case
What's the story
Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra is once again facing a legal complaint in relation to a monetary dispute.
A businessman has brought allegations of non-repayment of a loan against Shetty Kundra, her mother Sunanda Shetty, and sister-actor Shamita Shetty.
Reportedly, the trio failed to pay back a loan worth Rs. 21 lakh.
The Andheri magistrate court has issued summons to them in the matter.
Context
Why does this story matter?
Last year in November, the actor and her husband-businessman Raj Kundra were accused in an Rs. 1.51 crore cheating case.
Before that, in August, Shetty Kundra and her mother were mentioned in the FIRs of two more alleged cases of cheating.
These cropped up alongside the widely circulated pornography racket case involving Kundra.
Now, it seems more trouble is in store for the family.
Details
Shetty Kundra's late father had taken loan in 2015
News agency ANI reported the Andheri court has ordered the actors and their mother to appear before it on February 28.
Going into the details, reports suggest the complainant, Parhad Amra, is an automobile agency owner who had loaned Rs. 21 lakh to Shetty Kundra's late father, Surendra Shetty, back in 2015.
The money was supposed to be returned with interest by January 2017.
Claims
Now, the trio is denying owing him any money
However, before the January 2017 deadline for the loan repayment, Surendra passed away in 2016. Since then, his wife and two daughters have refused to pay him back the amount, Amra has alleged.
Moreover, the trio has apparently denied owing him any money.
Although the loan was taken by Surendra, the complainant has claimed that his family members were aware of the transaction.
