Andaz Apna Apna sequel to happen but without the Khans
Rajkumar Santoshi announced that the beloved Andaz Apna Apna, considered an epitome of comedy in Hindi cinema will soon get a sequel. However, to the dismay of fans, he said that Aamir and Salman Khan will not play the lead. He said that for this sort of comedy 'innocence' was needed and hinted towards Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan or Ranbir Kapoor being cast.

Andaz Apna Apna is a legendary Hindi-language comedy film. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, it had Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Paresh Rawal as its cast. The movie was about 2 dreamers hoping to become rich by marrying a wealthy girl. The movie is filled with hilarious sub-plots and characters like Teja, Crime master Gogo, Robert and Mr. Bhalla.

Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated the filming (mahurat) of the film. During filming, none of the stars spoke to each other. The movie was made in 3 years but was publicized only for 3 days because distributors weren't sure of its release.
When released Andaz Apna Apna, barely recovered cost
Released in 1994, the movie did not do well at the Box Office. It earned an excess of Rs. 5 crore and that too mainly from bigger cities. It was pitted against movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Krantiveer and 1942: A Love Story which cut into this movie's business. Moreover, it's genre 'comedy' was not very popular back then.
Andaz Apna Apna: How it acheived cult status?
Despite not getting as much visibility at the time of release, today Andaz Apna Apna is a cult comedy. The movie's dialogues have become popular lexicon, a feat only achieved by Sholay (1975) and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron (1983) before it. Parodies from Seeta- Geeta, Sholay, Papa Kehte Hain, Dekha Hai Pehli Baar (Saajan) and Mast Mast (Mohra) made this movie extremely lovable.
Raveena Tandon's dig at Salman and Aamir over AAA sequel
The original star cast of Andaz Apna Apna has always spoken of a sequel but Tandon doesn't think she'll feature. Actress Raveena Tandon took a dig at the male stars, saying that she would love to act in the movie but knows that it won't be possible. She said her photo will hang in the movie and the actors will romance 21-year-olds.
