Nikhil Nanda responds to fraud, abetment to suicide charges

Nikhil Nanda, the son-in-law of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, has issued a formal statement after allegations of fraud and abetment to suicide against him were reported.
He was named in a fraud and abetment to suicide case, responding to which Nanda's team revealed that they hadn't received any official communication from the authorities about the issue.
The chairman and managing director of Escorts Kubota, Nanda was reportedly booked by authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district on a court's directive.
Statement
'Our legal team is gathering all necessary details...'
Noting that the company has not "received any official communication from the authorities" regarding the case, the statement admitted that a First Information Report (FIR) was filed "against certain company officials."
"Our legal team is gathering all necessary details and if called upon to participate in any inquiry/investigation, we will fully cooperate with the authorities to ensure that the facts are established and the truth prevails."
Calling the allegations "unfounded," they said they had "full faith in the judicial process."

According to ETV Bharat, the case was filed by Gyanendra, a resident of Papad Hamzapur village, whose brother Jitendra Singh used to run a tractor agency named Jai Kisan Traders in Dataganj.
After his business partner Lalla Babu was jailed due to a family dispute, Singh was left to run the agency alone.
Gyanendra reportedly accused Nanda and several other company officials of constantly pressuring his brother to increase sales, which led to his distress.

The accused are also blamed for threatening Singh with the cancelation of his dealership license and auctioning his property if he failed to meet sales targets.
Gyanendra said that on November 21, 2024, a team of company officials visited Singh and once again pressured him to boost sales.
The very next day, on November 22, he tragically took his own life.
Justice sought
Family seeks justice after court intervention
Singh's family alleges that the police didn't act on the matter till the court intervened. Following the court's intervention, a case was formally registered against all the accused in the incident.
Singh's father Shiv Singh said he was unaware of Nanda's connections but blames the company for his son's death.
"I don't know who he is. We want justice," Shiv said.

Nanda is the son of Raj Kapoor's daughter, Ritu Nanda. He is married to Shweta Bachchan Nanda, the daughter of Bollywood icons Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.
The couple has two children, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda.
His maternal uncles include Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, and Rajiv Kapoor, while his cousins are Bollywood stars Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor.
