Amitabh Bachchan buys 20-acre Alibaug property for ₹10 crore: Report
Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, set to appear in the upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD, has expanded his real estate portfolio with a new acquisition. The Hindustan Times reported that the 81-year-old actor purchased a 20-acre plot in Alibaug, a coastal town in Maharashtra for ₹10 crore. The property was bought from The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) and is part of the larger A Alibaug project.
Bachchan's previous investment near the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya
This isn't Bachchan's first property purchase from HoABL. He previously invested in a 10,000-square-foot plot in The Sarayu, a 7-star plotted development by the Sarayu River near the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. That property cost him ₹14.5cr. In a statement, Bachchan said, "The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries."
Alibaug: A rising real estate hotspot among celebrities
Alibaug's popularity as a real estate investment destination is growing among Bollywood stars. Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan, recently bought farmland in Thal village in Alibaug for a reported amount of ₹9.5 crore. Earlier this year, celebrity couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli invested in a villa and a farmhouse in the same area for a reported ₹6 crore and ₹19.24 crore, respectively.
Business tycoons also investing in Alibaug properties
The coastal town of Alibaug has also attracted the attention of several business magnates. Per a Pinkvila report, Navin Agarwal (Vedanta Resources), Gautam Singhania (Raymond), Prakash Mody (Unichem Labs Ltd), Salil Parekh (Infosys), Sanjay Nayar (KKR), Falguni Nayar (Nykaa), and investor Deven Mehta have all established bungalows in the area. This trend further underscores Alibaug's growing appeal as a prime real estate location.
