At 82, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan remains a dominant force in Indian cinema and is also one of the highest tax-paying celebrities in India.
Bachchan's staggering tax payment of ₹120 crore for the financial year 2024-25 beat Shah Rukh Khan's ₹92 crore from 2023-24.
The hefty tax bill stems from Bachchan's varied revenue streams, which include films, endorsement deals, and hosting the hit game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

As per a report by Pinkvilla, Bachchan earned ₹350 crore in the FY 2024-25, which led to a tax liability of ₹120 crore.
The report further added that he paid the final installment of ₹52.5 crore on March 15.
An insider told the publication, "From starring in some of Indian cinema's biggest films to being the top choice for major brands, Amitabh remains an actor in demand even at the age of 82."

He recently finished shooting for the 16th season of KBC and was last seen in Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth and Kalki 2898 AD alongside Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone.

The Baghban actor has set a new record by paying ₹120 crore in taxes this year, surpassing the Jawaan actor by 30%.
This jump pushed him from the fourth spot to the top of India's highest tax-paying celebrities list.
Last year, the Paa actor paid ₹71 crore, marking a sharp 69% increase in his tax contribution. Other top taxpayers include Thalapathy Vijay with ₹80 crore and Salman Khan with ₹75 crore.
